An active kitesurfing trip with yoga, community & sunny days in Akyaka

An energetic and experience-rich week with kitesurfing, yoga, and community in the scenic Akyaka, Turkey. Here, you are invited to combine movement, adventure, and mindfulness in an area known for its stable wind, beautiful nature, and authentic atmosphere far from mass tourism.

We start the days with yoga by the beautiful Azmak River and spend the days on the beach with kite coaching, learning, and time on the water. Along the way, there is room for relaxation, communal dining, and excursions to the area's hidden gems.

Instruction will be in Danish if everyone speaks Danish; otherwise, it will be in English.

Accommodation and price

  • Shared double room: 8,799 DKK for 7 nights
  • Single room supplement: 2,200 DKK (to be arranged subsequently)

A deposit of 10% of the stay is paid immediately. Registration is binding, and the deposit is non-refundable.

Once the deposit has been paid, your booking will be forwarded to the instructor for this retreat (Emely), who will arrange the practical details for the remaining payment and send you all the information for your stay.

Meals
A large Turkish breakfast buffet is included every day. Other meals are not included, but the group will eat together at local restaurants with delicious ingredients and authentic flavors. Drinks are not included.

About the location

Akyaka is a small gem on the Aegean Sea, known for its tranquil atmosphere, beautiful nature, and stable thermal wind. The town is part of the Cittaslow movement and exudes authenticity, local culture, and a lifestyle where the pace is slowed down.

You will stay at a charming 3-star hotel right by the famous Azmak River. The hotel has a calm and authentic atmosphere, a pool, and bright, comfortable rooms. It is close to restaurants, nightlife, and both the swimming and kite beach, providing the best starting point for a week of both activity and relaxation.

Facilitator

Emely Freja

Emely is a tour leader, yoga instructor, and kite coach on the trip. She has lived in Akyaka since 2019 and has been teaching and training in both kitesurfing and yoga worldwide since 2010. She is a certified yoga teacher with 500RYT through Yoga Alliance and has extensive international teaching experience. Emely combines high professionalism with warmth, calm, and passion to create a safe and inspiring environment.

Ender Madan

Ender is a tour leader and kite coach, born and raised in Akyaka. He is intimately familiar with the area's wind and water conditions and has been teaching kitesurfing full-time in Akyaka and abroad since 2017. With his calm and professional approach, he creates a safe experience for both new and experienced participants.

Who can participate

The trip is open to everyone, whether you are a beginner or experienced. You can participate whether you want to learn kitesurfing or if you already surf and want coaching and community.

The yoga is adapted for both beginners and advanced practitioners. There is room for a maximum of 15 participants on the trip.

Transportation: Flight tickets are not included and are booked separately. There are direct flights from both Copenhagen and Billund.

Transfer: Shared transfer from Bodrum airport is included for recommended flights. For other arrival times, transfer can be arranged at your own expense.

Important to know:
You must bring your own yoga mat
Kitesurfing equipment can be rented
Beginner kitesurfing lessons can be purchased additionally
Travel insurance must be taken out independently and should cover kitesurfing
Turkey does not require a visa for Danish passports, but the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
